Soundings Jerusalem

Museum, ZAZ festival, Jerusalem

September 2007

This was the latest in a series of collaborative performances with Jane Dudman. We prepared a room in the museum with different materials with which to make repetitive actions doing simple mundane tasks: folding a pile of T-shirts; sieving a pile of earth; washing our hands; rolling strips of cotton that we tore from a sheet; peeling potatoes. We made abstract voice sounds throughout in response to each other and to being in the space. Viewers came and went during the ninety minute performance.
