Rose

Norwich, England

June 2013

As part of Borderline Performance Festival, thirteen identical red dresses hung in the crypt of Norwich cathedral. Dressed in an identical dress I moved amongst them and began to cut each one so that salt poured from inside of them. Finally I slit my own dress revealing a red and thorny-stemmed rose hanging between my thighs. I remained still, with blood dripping from a finger that I had cut whilst piercing the salt-filled 'hearts', until everyone left the space.
